SYNOPSIS:
Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" is a jukebox musical centered around the songs of Neil Sedaka, following the story of two best friends, Marge and Lois, who take a vacation to a Catskills resort after a devastating breakup, where they navigate new romances amidst the backdrop of classic 60s love songs like "Oh Carol," "Laughter in the Rain," and of course, "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," all while dealing with the complications of love and heartbreak at a time of major life changes.
CHARACTERS:
- Marge Gelman – jilted bride, recovering from heartbreak
- Lois Warner – Marge’s best friend
- Del Delmonaco – lounge lizard Elvis-type entertainer
- Gabe Green – nerdy, but secretly-talented underdog
- Esther – widowed owner of a resort
- Harvey – all-around comedian/handyman secretly in love with Esther
